Three-time X Games gold medal winner Alexis Sablone has been at the top of the professional skate scene for over a decade now, eventually leading to her connecting with Converse. She’s released various footwear projects with the brand, culminating in the debut of her first signature shoe — the AS-1 — last year. However, this year she looks to be mixing things up.
Sablone’s latest Instagram post revealed not only a new colorway of the AS-1, but a special collaborative take on the Nike SB Dunk Low as well. While the brief preview is limited in detail, a white textured leather base is accompanied by a scale-like finish at the overlays and Swooshes, with the former leaning primarily on a sage green while notably featuring purple and brown splotches as well. As for the lateral Swoosh, it favors an olive green that matches the laces and lining. Supporting the sneaker, a “Sail” stitched midsole is joined by a forest green rubber outsole. Looking to the corner of the original image, an alternate pair of laces in purple are displayed as well while the AS-1 seemingly carries a wear-away layer, which may be present on the SB Dunk Low as well — hence the aforementioned purple and brown details on the sneaker’s overlays.
At the time of writing, no release details regarding Alexis Sablone’s Nike SB Dunk Low have been disclosed by either party. Stay tuned as it’s likely to land on shelves later this year via Nike SNKRS and select skate shops at a starting price of $135 USD.
