A week after Hamilton first teased its collaboration with Dune: Part Two, the American watchmaker has finally revealed the custom “Desert Watch” that will be featured in the upcoming film, alongside two limited-edition timepieces commemorating their collaboration.
Hamilton had worked closely with Doug Harlocker, Dune: Part Two’s Prop Master to create the “Desert Watch” — a device that embodied the distinctive codes of Fremen and is exclusive to Arrakis. “When Denis Villeneuve and his team reached out to us, with the request to help them design the wrist device for Dune: Part Two, we were very proud. This really underlines Hamilton’s standing as the watchmaker of filmmakers,” says the brand’s CEO, Vivian Stauffer, who remarked on the collaboration being the first time the team was asked to design something that isn’t actually a watch.
In addition to that, Hamilton also unveiled two limited-edition watches dedicated to the film: the Ventura XXL Bright Dune and the Ventura Edge Dune. Both are modeled after the brand’s iconic Ventura model and are doused in an all-black PVD coating. Priced at $1,750 USD, the Ventura XXL Bright Dune is a limited edition of 3,000 examples. The watch face features the dial design of the “Desert Watch” in a glowing blue hue.
Meanwhile, the Ventura Edge Dune emulates the rugged appeal of the “Desert Watch” with relief elements. It’s priced $2,500 USD and released in a limited run of 2,000 pieces only. Both watches are now available to order via Hamilton’s official website.
